Publication in Diversity

Excited to share our latest publication in Diversity! We explore the complex interplay between biodiversity loss and socio-economic challenges in a South African Game Reserve. Our research delves into the interlinked human-elephant and human-human conflicts, leading to unproductive conservation trade-offs. We’ve developed a “Theory of Change for Living in Harmony” that seeks to bridge the divide, focusing on diverse perspectives on conservation and development within and outside the reserve. We propose an integrated elephant conservation model, to foster coexistence and mutual benefit for both elephants and people!

“Resolving Conservation Conflicts through Shared Vision, Collective Benefits and Relevant Values”, by Antoinette van de Water, Suzan Doornwaard, Liesbeth Sluiter, Michelle Henley, Catherine Sutherland and Rob Slotow
