Ph.D. researcher Brooke Friswold is hiring a research assistant to assist with three months of elephant observation field work in Ruam Thai. Ideal candidates are fluent in both Thai and English and have a degree in/studying for a degree in wildlife, environmental, conservation science, or related field.
“As an elephant research intern, you can help Ph.D. researcher Brooke Friswold in conducting critical research on wild elephant behavior in Kuiburi National Park, Thailand. She will go into the park five days per week from 2pm-6pm to observe elephants using an app to record their behavior. Brooke is escorted by rangers on a regular basis and will need assistance in communication with the rangers during that time. Assistance with this research will provide emerging conservationists and students in learning how to conduct field-based wildlife behavioral research and elephant conservation research.
Responsibilities: You will actively participate in field research five days a week from 2pm – 6pm that involves searching for wild elephants and monitoring elephant behavior and taking photos of elephants. You will also assist with other responsibilities from 10am to 2pm that will include administrative responsibilities and data work”.
